We are into 2019 already and before you know it the summer will be upon us and have we got everything organised for the big event? So many things on the “to do” list and who is doing the flowers and the photography? Time to make the bookings….
The life of a photographer over the festive period is a varied one and whilst there normally is an intimate wedding, I had none booked this year, which with the lack of snow, was maybe just as well as a Christmas wedding really needs snow. This year it was head shots, family group photos, pet photography and private events.
All take pre-planning to get the ideal location with the right amount of lighting, whilst at the same time once everyone gathers it all has to be done very fast to grab that moment. Family photographs of more than a dozen with various children are similar to wedding group photos, where communication between photographer and group is absolutely essential to achieve the best results.
Sometimes though you have to go with the flow and this was definitely the case when I was asked to do some pet photography. Looking round the back of the property I found that there was a Scandinavian style log stack, which I then successfully used as the backdrop for the shot.
